Having completed an HND in Design for Advertising & Marketing, I started my career , in London working for companies as an “in house designer”. Later I moved into design management at Prestige Housewares and finally for Qualcast which brought about my move to Derby. Subsequently, I started my own design and print consultancy, Chevin Design, but also I took on a part time role as a lecturer in graphic design at Stockport College where I eventually became full time and leader of the first year of the B/Tec National Diploma in Graphic Design. I retired in 2011.

Drawing has always been important to me, not just professionally but as a means of enjoyment and expression. So, once retired, I looked for ways to satisfy the creative gap left by not working in graphics anymore…and eventually found Derby Sketching Club. The club offers great drawing opportunities, as in the life classes and portrait sessions, plus the chance to chat and share with like-minded people.

The various works I have shown here have been produced fairly recently and mostly at Derby Sketching Club sessions. I hope you enjoy them.
