Denise Cliffen was a semi-finalist in Sky Landscape Artist of the Year 2022. She has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Society of Marine Artists.
This workshop: Negative Painting Landscape uses acrylics on black paper. First the basic outlines of the scene are drawn in pastel pencil and then the paint is applied in between the lines in short brush strokes, creating almost a mosaic effect.
Bring with you an A3 nice quality sheet of black paper or Denise can supply you with one for £1. Also bring a selection of acrylic paints, a water pot, brushes, apron and an easel if you prefer to use one. If you don’t already have acrylic paints, let us know at least 10 days in advance and Denise can provide these for £7 in an ice cube tray. Take home what you don’t use.
Space is limited. Please note the earlier start time.
