We are invited to visit an exhibition curated by friend of Derby Sketching Club Jeremy Bournon. He describes it as follows: “An exhibition of private and professional creative practice. Mycorrhizal Fungus is a beneficial soil fungus that forms a symbiotic relationship with tree root systems. It improves drought and disease resistance of roots in soils and supports growth to nurture plant and tree life. I thought that was the perfect metaphor for people in education and particularly summarises my time teaching art over 46 years. For this exhibition I have invited creatives from the 5 schools in which I have taught to provide a piece of their own artwork or work from their professional practice. Art works on display will include architectural design, product design, fashion, scientific models, ceramics, painting, photography, sound installation, writing, music and sculpture”.
