“I was born in Southport in Lancashire (1944) and grew up in West London. I studied at Chelsea School of Art for the diploma of Art and Design (1966). Later on, I moved out of London and eventually settled in Derby. After working in a variety of jobs I had the opportunity to concentrate full-time on art. I attended evening classes in life drawing at St. Helens House and then joined the Derby Sketching Club where I have gained much valuable experience in portrait, life and still drawing sessions. I have also exhibited regularly in club exhibitions at the Grange Hall and the Guildhall. I usually draw in pen, pencil or paint in traditional oils on canvas.“
