Trophy Exhibition 2017
Information Letter and Entry Form
The venue for the 2017 Trophy Exhibition of members’ work will be in Markeaton Park Craft Village, Allestree. The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday 26th May until Monday 29th May. Details for entering your pictures are clearly presented on the entry forms, which are available at the regular art sessions in Grange Hall. If you have difficulty in attending the hall, entry forms may be sent by post. Let a committee member know.
Car Parking Arrangements
The map below shows the area for bringing in your pictures and the public car park. On Thursday, May 25th we have permission to bring our cars through the disabled persons’ car park on the corner near the garden centre, passing through the NO ENTRY sign there is a strict speed limit of 5mph in this area, please abide by it. The bollards at the far end of the car park will be removed on the Thursday morning to allow us to drive to the exhibition hall. Unfortunately, any further visits will entail using the pay car park, shown on the map, with the exception of the Monday evening for picture pick up when we may use the disabled person’s entrance once more. For those who are stewarding the exhibition, there may be a small number of free parking permits made available to us. Stewards should park in the paid car park without paying the fee and come to the exhibition hall to obtain a free pass. If no pass is available, purchase a pay and display ticket. All stewards will be refunded, by Derby Sketching Club, for any car parking charges incurred on receipt of their used display ticket.
It is not intended that the Club should make a profit from the exhibition, charges are only put in place to help pay for the hall and equipment. Therefore, there will be no percentage taken from members’ sales during the exhibition. Each Club member may enter three pictures at £2 each with an optional fourth free of charge. Browser items will be charged at £1 for three items with no limit and greetings cards will be £1 for every 40 cards. Please remember to label the back of your pictures with your name, address, telephone number and price. Each individual greetings card and browser item should be presented in the usual way and labelled with the artist’s name and price. Important Note: All pictures must be fitted with a string or wire for hanging. Mirror clips are not acceptable.
It is very important for the smooth running of the exhibition that members should adhere to the following timings: • Entries should be delivered to the venue between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Thursday, 25th May. • Entries should be collected between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday 29th May. Judging will take place on Thursday afternoon by Rachael Pinks. The Mayor of Derby will officially open the exhibition on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. and will distribute the Trophy and six Highly Commended Certificates to those artists selected by the judge.
Good Luck !
